A New CONCUR White Paper - Some Observations from Our Mediated Cases: How Organizations and Relationships Can Transform to Implement New Environmental Policies
To document and learn from the variety of cases we facilitate and mediate, we at CONCUR regularly publish working papers, journal articles, and book chapters, as well as speak as conference presenters and guest lecturers.
CONCUR’s newest Working Paper collects personal reflections of Principals John Gamman and Scott McCreary, drawn from 20 years of mediating complex environmental policy cases. The paper discusses how common obstacles to more effective negotiating can be overcome, by both individuals and organizations, to allow them to make the transformation required by the demands of new environmental policies. Topics include:
-how to deal with conflict within your own organization in order to create a cohesive external negotiating strategy
-the impact of withholding crucial information during a negotiation
-how focusing on the needs of others creates more value to be claimed in a negotiation
This paper can be downloaded here (wp-09-01.PDF) and is also listed as publication number WP-09-01 on our publications page along with other free CONCUR Working Papers available for download.
