CONCUR has prepared a new fact sheet focused on our watershed planning experience and expertise (download PDF).

watersheds and estuaries fact sheet

Watershed planning touches on a broad range of issues including local land use policies, stream protection concerns, restoration goals, flood control, and water quality. The planning framework can be transboundary and address implications for climate change adaptation, or regionally focused in its need to balance water supply, flood protection and habitat considerations. It can also be locally-based with a focus on recreational uses and creek alignment. The challenge is to bring the relevant parties to the table, identify common interests, integrate divergent views, and map out a a mutually-acceptable set of solutions.

This fact sheet addresses our staff expertise, selected watershed planning and estuary planning projects, and CONCUR’s selected watershed and estuary-related publications.

Please see our services page for other CONCUR fact sheets, including Joint Fact-Finding, Marine Resources, Water Resource Mediation, Land Use and Transportation, Sustainable Communities, Environmental Health, and Tribal and Cross-Cultural Mediation.
